Boyz II Men at Bimbadgen: accessible parking and getting there on show day

A guest waves from the hydraulic lift of the HV Tours accessible minibus

If you have a ticket for Boyz II Men at Bimbadgen, you have one job left: parking. The show is listed as sold out, so this isn't a ticket pitch. It's for the people already going.

The detail that matters most is simple. Parking on site is limited and must be bought separately. If you hold a disabled parking permit, there's an extra form. Miss it, and your ticket won't solve the problem on the day.

This piece focuses on the one date, because the accessible parking process deserves its own page.

The show at a glance

Boyz II Men headline, with Salt-N-Pepa and Bell Biv DeVoe, on Saturday 5 December 2026. Gates open at 4:00pm and the show finishes at about 9:30pm. The venue is Bimbadgen, 790 McDonalds Road, Pokolbin NSW 2320.

That's a five-and-a-half-hour window from gates to the end of the show. It also means a late-evening drive home on rural roads, which is worth planning for now, not at 9:30pm in a car park.

Accessible parking: the step most people miss

Bimbadgen's venue page is clear: parking on site is limited, and a parking pass must be pre-purchased for $20. No pass, no guaranteed spot.

For permit holders there's a second step. The same page says patrons with a disabled parking permit must pre-purchase parking and complete an Accessible Parking Request Form, which sits in the accessible guide for the tour.

Two separate actions, then. Buying the pass doesn't lodge the request, and the request doesn't buy the pass. Do both.

A tip from us: keep the confirmations in the same place as your ticket, in a phone wallet or a printed folder. On a busy gate, one screen beats three emails.

Why McDonalds Road gets tight on a show day

Bimbadgen sits on McDonalds Road, in the middle of Pokolbin's rural road network. When thousands of people arrive for a 4:00pm gate, those roads carry far more than their usual traffic.

Council has managed this before. For the October 2023 A Day on the Green at Bimbadgen, Cessnock City Council sought Transport for NSW consent for temporary traffic controls on Broke Road, McDonalds Road, Palmers Lane and Wine Country Drive. These included 40km/h limits, no-stopping zones on McDonalds Road and stop/slow controls.

That notice was for 2023 only. No 2026 notice had been published when we wrote this, and the terms may differ. What the 2023 pattern does show is the kind of thing to expect. If no-stopping zones return on McDonalds Road, a quick kerbside drop-off near the gate may not be an option. Slower speed limits and stop/slow points also add time to both arrival and departure.

Our view: plan your arrival as if the roads will be managed, and check Council's page closer to the date.

If you'd rather not drive at all

Some groups solve all of this by leaving the car at home. That can mean no parking pass to chase, no designated driver, and no late-evening drive on managed country roads.

HV Tours has run small group, private and wheelchair-accessible tours through Pokolbin, Lovedale and Cessnock since 2015. Accessibility is what we're known for, with a hydraulic-lift minibus and venues we've vetted. If you're going to Bimbadgen with a wheelchair user or anyone with mobility needs, we're happy to talk through how we can help on the day.

For background on getting around the Valley without your own wheels, see our guide to visiting the Hunter Valley without a car. For groups, our private small bus and driver and private big bus and driver pages explain how private hire works.

Your next step

If you have a ticket and want to talk transport, call HV Tours on 0456 737 888 or email info@hvtours.com.au. To give us what we need in one go, tell us:

  • the date (Saturday 5 December 2026) and how many are in your group
  • any wheelchair or mobility needs, including if anyone travels in their chair
  • where you'd like to be collected from and returned to
  • if you'd like to fit in a cellar door or two before the 4:00pm gates

If you're driving yourself, do the parking steps today. The pass and the form are the two things only you can sort.
